Talk It Out:
What's Bugging You?

"I love summer but I hate the bugs! Does anyone know what those little bugs are that look like tiny flecks of dried grass? They are hardly big enough to see, but I can sure feel it when they bite. What are these bugs and how can I stop them from ruining my family’s outdoor fun? Will regular old bug repellent work? It seems like I’ve tried that before with limited success. Help!" ~ Karen

Responses:

"I make my own bug lotion and it works great. Here is the recipe:

Use one bottle of lotion (any kind you like, cheap or not). For an 8oz of lotion, add 10 drops of as many of the following as possible:
* peppermint oil
* eucalyptus oil
* lemon grass
* citronella
* lavender
* tea tree oil

It smells some better than the spray kind and is safer especially for children because it does not have dangerous chemicals in it." ~ Kathy
