Creatively Frugal Mother's Day Celebrations

Describe the low-cost, high-value Mother’s Day celebration of your dreams. In what inexpensive, yet highly meaningful way would you chose to be honored if it was left entirely up to you?

"I love to garden and my favorite Mother's Day celebration is the gift of help. It has become our tradition over the years to work in my garden or the yard on mothers day. To me that is the best gift and having my family help me (complaint-free) is much more rewarding then going to a restaurant." ~ Anonymous

"I'd love enough days off from work to get COMPLETELY caught up around the house. I'm a single mom and my days off are rare. When I do get one, I want to hug my boss because he has NO idea what a wonderful thing he's given me!" ~ Leslie

"My dream Mother's Day celebration would be to awaken to breakfast in bed. Oatmeal and toast would be great, the not getting up first part would be great, too. Then just visiting with all my kids and grandkids all day without doing chores. Then having my husband barbeque his famous potatoes and hamburgers for dinner. To me the best gift isn't bought in a store but unhurried time together. P.S. Hope my husband and kids see this!" ~ Cindy
"It would be wonderful just to have my family tell me that I didn't have to lift a finger all day, that meals and everything would be taken care of by them without any fighting or complaining over it.  Eating out is nice, but expensive and usually a hassle on a holiday.  Just to be able to go to church and relax afterwards would make me very happy." ~ Anonymous

"Mother's day is a tough one. Sundays I am usually the first one awake and getting everyone up and around for church!  So the 'breakfast in bed' idea wouldn't be too practical on a Sunday morning...But what about the day before on Saturday instead? A cup of tea and a flower...some toast & jam would be so nice.
Spending a relaxing day outdoors enjoying the fresh air, having fun as a family, perhaps cooking out...To have the day off from meal-prep and cleanup would be truly heavenly!" ~ Anonymous
